Palatine Tackles State Wage Law That Could Increase Cost of Village Projects

Palatine Tackles State Wage Law That Could Increase Cost of Village Projects
The Palatine Village Council voted Monday to establish a legislative initiative meant to address a state law that could increase the cost of large village projects by 20 to 30 percent, according to the Daily Herald.

The Prevailing Wage Act requires that contractors working on publicly-funded projects be paid a "state-dictated" wage, and Palatine is looking to work with local General Assemply representatives as well as the Northwest Municipal Conference to "address the issue," the Daily Herald reports.
