Rep. Luis Gutierrez Endorses Raja for Congress

Leading Immigration Advocate Backs Krishnamoorthi's Bid for 8th District.

U.S. Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL 4th District) today announced his support of Raja Krishnamoorthi’s candidacy to replace Rep. Tammy Duckworth in Congress.

“Raja has a unique mix of public and private sector experience that makes him the best choice to succeed Tammy Duckworth in Congress,” Gutiérrez said. “Raja is an immigrant success story and a leader who will fight for justice in Congress and be a voice for the hardworking Americans who do not get the recognition they deserve. I look forward to serving Illinois with Raja in Congress.”

Rep. Gutiérrez represents the Fourth District of Illinois, is a Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, is a Member of the Judiciary Committee and the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security, and is the Co-chair of the Immigration Task Force of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

“Rep. Gutiérrez is leading the charge on immigration reform, and I am grateful he has endorsed my campaign for Congress,” Krishnamoorthi said. “He knows what it takes to fight to protect working families in Washington.”

Raja announced last week that he had raised more than $400,000 for his campaign in less than two months during the second fundraising quarter of 2015. He formed his campaign committee in April with the Federal Election Commission.
