There is more evidence outstanding in the reckless homicide case against Sam Cafi, the Justice man charged with more than 100 felony counts in a fatal DUI, attorneys said during a Thursday hearing.

Cafi, 29, pleaded not guilty in August and is out on a $1 million bond. He appeared in a suit and tie during the brief hearing in Cook County Judge John J. Hynes' court in Bridgeview.

Prosecutors said they are waiting on hospitals to comply with an issued order.

Cafi has been charged in connection to the early morning March 10 crash that killed 28-year-old Ryan Osowski of Darien and injured three others. The crash occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of LaGrange Road and 95th Street in a forest preserve area near Palos Hills, police said.

According to reports, Cafi was speeding down 95th Street when he crashed into a vehicle that was traveling southbound on LaGrange Road. The vehicle Cafi hit then rolled over several times and landed in the westbound lanes on 95th Street, police said. Osowski, who was in the passenger seat, was reportedly ejected through the windshield.

Cafi is scheduled to be back in court on Feb. 25 for a status hearing.
