Cosmetology school applications available now for D230 students

Applications available from guidance office

District 230 students have the opportunity to enroll in the Cosmetology training program during their senior year. Students need to apply to be accepted into the program. Classes are conducted at Hair Professionals College in Palos Hills. Students interested in a career in Hair Care can start the 1,500 hour Illinois state certified program either in June or August.

Students attend basic classes for the first part of the program and then advance to working with clients on the salon floor. After graduating from high school, most students complete the required hours by December, take their state boards and start looking for a job.

Interested students need to apply for the program through the guidance office at their high school. All applications needto be submitted to his/her guidance counselor and approved by the district instructor and guidance department. This CTE program is one of the many career-ready offerings our district has to help prepare students for the future.
