Body Found In Burning Car Identified As 66-Year-Old Orland Park Man: Police

A body found in a burning car in Palos Hills early Monday morning has been identified as a 66-year-old Orland Park man. The Cook County Medical Examiner used dental records to identify Frank Siwiec. An autopsy was completed Wednesday evening, Palos Hill police said in a news release.

Around 7 a.m. Monday, July 31, Palos Hills police went to assist the North Palos Fire Protection District on a vehicle fire in the 10700 block of Michael Drive. The vehicle was still smoldering when fire crews arrived. Siwiec found in the driver’s seat of a four-door white car.

It is still not known if the Orland Park man died elsewhere or as a result of the fire. The case remains an active death investigation.
