Stagg Girls' Golf, Tennis Players Commit to College Sports

The two signed letters of intent to take their skills to the collegiate level.

​​Two Stagg High School athletes recently signed letters of intent to continue in their sports at the college level.

Nicole Pamphilis will play tennis at DePauw University and Haleigh Biernacki will golf for Waldorf College.

Charger Tennis Varsity Team Captain Pamphillis is a four-time IHSA All-State qualifer, two-time Southwest Suburban Conference Champion at first singles, two-time Southwest Suburban Conference Champion at second singles and a Southwest Suburban Sectional Champion at first singles. She also holds a Top 100 ranking in the Midwest for USTA, Girls 18’s Singles and Doubles (out of 5,000 players). In the fall of 2015, she will be a member of the starting lineup on the DePauw University Tigers Women’s Tennis team on a scholarship.

Biernacki was a member of the Mt. Assisi Girls Varsity Golf Team for three years prior to transferring to Stagg High School her senior year. This past summer, Biernacki competed on the Cog Hill Junior Tour. She placed first in the girls division and was named Player of the Year for the girls division. As a senior golfer at Stagg, Biernacki was the team medalist in 10 of the 12 dual meets and was selected the TEAM MVP for the 2014 season. Biernacki will continue her career at Waldorf College in Forest City Iowa on a golf scholarship in the fall of 2015.
