Following the Sunday, March 20th 3:30 p.m. performance of Marc Salem’s Mind Over Chicago, a fun-filled, thought-provoking panel discussion will be presented titled How to Make People Think You’re the Smartest Person in the Room!

Marc Salem, creator and star of Chicago’s newest hit, Marc Salem’s Mind Over Chicago, invites his March 20th matinee audience to join him, along with special guests Tim Kazurinsky (SNL actor, writer), Elaine Soloway (writer, and inspiration for the Judith Light character on Transparent), and moderator Aaron Freeman (Artist-In-Residence for the Chicago Council on Science and Technology), in a fascinating and lively tete-a-tete to discuss the nature of reality (how we create reality versus how we appear to others) and the role it plays in our day-to-day lives. Most of all, the discussion will focus on what interests people the most: ourselves! The panel will commence immediately following the matinee and is free to all those attending the performance.

Panelists

Marc Salem (creator/performer), the world’s leading mentalist, has been featured on: Through the Wormhole (narrated by Morgan Freeman); the fascinating series Brain Games; a 60-Minutes profile; and his own upcoming series on the National Geographic Channel, Mind Games, set to premiere in May. Holding degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and New York University, Marc Salem has been an authority on non-verbal communication for over 30 years, serving on the faculty of major universities for nearly 20 years. This jaw-dropping entertainer has traveled the world, amazing audiences while exploring the fascinating potential of the human mind. Marc completed three sell-out seasons in London and has had two extended runs on Broadway. He is seen regularly on COURT TV, and was a director of research at Sesame Street for ten years. He has been featured on The O’Reilly Factor, The Howard Stern Show, Montel, Maury, Regis, and CNN, along with hundreds of other television and radio appearances.

Aaron Freeman (moderator) is the Artist-In-Residence for the Chicago Council on Science and Technology. He lectures on science communication for Harvard's science communication program "ComSciCon.” Along with his wife, the comics artist Sharon Rosenzweig, he creates comics and comic videos for the website Graphic Medicine as well as The Annals of Internal Medicine. He an improv actor and opened two shows on the mainstage of The Second City. Aaron is also an auctioneer, MC, host, moderator, a great interview subject and an all-around fun guy!

Tim Kazurinsky (panelist) got his start at Chicago's famed The Second City. A former cast member and writer of NBC’s SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, Tim returned home to Chicago to co-write such screenplays as MY BODYGUARD, ABOUT LAST NIGHT…, FOR KEEPS and THE CHEROKEE KID. He was nominated for a Writers’ Guild Award and a BAFTA for his screenplay STRANGE RELATIONS. Movie appearances include NEIGHBORS, SOMEWHERE IN TIME, ROLL BOUNCE, SHAKES THE CLOWN, HOT TO TROT, CONTINENTAL DIVIDE, and three POLICE ACADEMY films. TV appearances include CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM and ACCORDING TO JIM. He recently played the Wizard of Oz in the First National Tour of WICKED and appeared on Broadway with Jim Parsons in AN ACT OF GOD.

Elaine Soloway (panelist) is the author of two memoirs: Green Nails and Other Acts of Rebellion: Life After Loss and The Division Street Princess; and one novel: She's Not The Type.

She is a public relations, marketing, and social media consultant, and is the writer of several blogs, including: The Hometown Rookie, The Rookie Transplant, The Rookie Widow, The Rookie Caregiver, and Too Old To Talk Tech. Along with developing her own essays, Elaine is a writing coach and a tech tutor. Before launching her consulting business, she was a press aide to Chicago Mayor Jane Byrne and communications director for School Superintendent Ruth Love. More recently, she was a specialist at the Apple Store in Skokie, Illinois, and she taught "Tech for Rookies" at the City of Chicago's Renaissance Center, where students are over the age of 55. Soloway has two daughters in the entertainment industry and three grandchildren. Her daughters are Faith Soloway of Boston, a musician and producer of rock operas: Jesus Has Two Mommies and Miss Folk America, and Jill Soloway of Los Angeles, the creator/writer/director of Amazon Prime's awarding-winning television show, Transparent. Faith is also a member of the show's writing team. A lifelong Chicagoan, Elaine Soloway lives in the Lakeshore East neighborhood.

Marc Salem’s Mind Over Chicago, which recently extended until April 10th, has been blowing audiences’ minds since February at the Apollo Theater Chicago, 2540 N Lincoln Ave. “Highly Recommended” by The Chicago Tribune, the show was created with tasty local flavor specifically for the Windy City.
