Zachary and Maxwell Barvian, identical twins and seniors at , are two of just 16 finalists for the Bruce Fishkin Scholarship.
The brothers, 16, will be traveling to Las Vegas in mid-March to interview with the board of directors, who will choose the recipient of a full four-year scholarship, including room and board, to the college of the student's choice. More than 1,000 students applied, said Tammie Barvian, the teens' mother.
Applicants have to have at least a 3.0 GPA out of a 4.0, submit a 400 to 500 word essay and demonstrate an enterprising, philanthropic character, according the scholarship's Web site, www.brucefishkinscholarshipfund.com.

Only students who live in Redding, Fairfield and Westport, Conn., and the cities and surrounding suburbs of Chicago and Las Vegas are eligible to apply, the site says.
