House 'Majorly Damaged' by Fire Tuesday Night, Chief Says
Fire severely damaged a house in the Mayfair subdivision Tuesday night, leaving a family of three homeless, Joliet Battalion Chief Laroy Aldridge said.

The  Joliet Fire Department was alerted to the blaze at 3005 Frank Turk Dr. shortly after 6 p.m., Aldridge said. The owners were not home at the time, he said. The home has a Plainfield mailing address, but is located within Joliet's municipal boundaries.

  • Seventeen firefighters needed about two hours to get it under control, he said. The house was "majorly damaged," but there were no injuries, Aldridge said.

Investigators were on the scene and are trying to determine the cause of the fire, which appears to have started on the home's deck, he said.
