Postal Worker Airlifted From Scene of Crash on Rt. 126 - UPDATED

Rt. 126 between Drauden and Ridge Roads remains closed to traffic, Illinois State Police said.

Update 6:21 p.m. Tuesday - All lanes are now open on Route 126, per Illinois State Police.

The Illinois State Police are at the scene of a head-on crash between a Volkswagen and U.S. Postal truck.

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday, Route 126 remains closed between Drauden Road and Ridge Road until further notice, state police officials said.

The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when the postal truck and Volkswagen collided head-on near Rt. 126 and Will-Kendall County Line Road.

The driver of the postal truck has been airlifted to an area hospital.
