Romeoville is among the fastest-growing towns in the state, according to a study by NerdWallet.com.
The village ranked No. 113 in the study. Other towns that made the list include Plainfield (No. 15), Joliet (53), Lockport (55) and Bolingbrook (87).
The study ranked towns based on population growth, employment growth and income growth from 2009 to 2012.
"It has taken Illinois longer to come out of the recession than other states and unemployment here (
8.7% in January 2014) is still higher than the national average (
6.6% in January 2014)," NerdWallet wrote. "However, there are many areas throughout the state showing signs of growth."
Last month, NerdWallet named
Romeoville one of the top 10 places in the state to own a home.
