Northwestern College to Host Free Employability Seminar for Community

[Chicago-Jefferson Park, IL]  Unemployment continues to remain high at 6.6% nationally and even higher in Illinois at 8.6%.  In an effort to serve as a resource to local communities that are striving to move residents off the unemployment rolls and into good paying jobs and careers, Northwestern College will be hosting a Free Seminar on March 12 entitled, “Careers, Education, and Employment.” The seminar will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in Room 204 at Northwestern College’s Chicago Campus located at 4811 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Jefferson Park. Northwestern College students and interested members of the community are invited to attend, free of charge.  The seminar will be geared towards those entering the job market, those looking for ways to refresh their ongoing employment search, those interested in a career change, and those interested in seeking higher education to obtain career training pertinent to today’s changing workforce.

The Careers, Education, and Employment seminar will be conducted by employment expert Greg Norton, Northwestern College’s Career Development & Alumni Relations Coordinator who has decades of experience in the staffing industry and has served as a headhunter, recruiter, and outplacement consultant.  Norton will be conducting the seminar in a warm, small group, collegial environment where attendees can discuss their own personal situations and concerns.  Norton earned his Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC) status in 1988, his Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification in 1999 and is a member of the National Career Development Association.  He has worked with a spectrum of companies from the Fortune 100 to small enterprises.
