Just bought, just stolen

A woman who purchased an iPad from the Apple Store in Old Orchard Mall reported the electronic device stolen later that day on Sept. 4. The woman drove to Best Buy at 9635 Skokie Blvd. to purchase an accessory, but when she returned to her vehicle the item was gone, the report stated.


The words “Shikn Shack” were spray painted on the side of Brown’s Chicago, 3939 Oakton St., on Aug. 30.

Stolen phone

A smartphone was reported stolen from the Weber Center, 9300 Weber Park Place, on Aug. 30. The phone was valued at around $200, the report said.

Stolen bike

A bike valued at around $200 was reported stolen from the 8300 block of Christiana Avenue on Aug. 30.

Theft from auto

A car parked outside Old Orchard Mall was reported burglarized on Sept. 5. According to the report, a blunt object was used to smash out the driver’s side window. An iPod valued at $300 was removed from the vehicle, the report stated.

Tools stolen

A set of tools was reported stolen from a basement in the 4800 block of Crain Avenue on Sept. 5.

Stolen laptop

A woman alleged that her friend stole her laptop from the backseat of her car on Sept. 5. No arrests were made.
