Is Jim Oberweis making any headway in effort to oust Dick Durbin?

An exclusive Reboot Illinois poll has updated numbers in the race for U.S. Senator between Durbin and Oberweis.

A Reboot Illinois poll in June had incumbent U.S. Senator Dick Durbin with a 52-39 lead over Republican challenger Jim Oberweis. Reboot Illinois has another exclusive poll out with updated numbers on the race. Has Oberweis started to close the gap?

Durbin has been a member of the U.S. Senate since 1996 when he replaced then-U.S. Senator Paul Simon, the father of current lieutenant governor and comptroller candidate Sheila Simon. Oberweis, who has strong name recognition from his service in the Illinois Senate and the dairy that bears his name, unsuccessfully sought the Republican U.S. Senate nominations in 2002 and 2004.

Is the third time running for U.S. Senate the charm for Oberweis? Has he made up any ground on Durbin? Check out the numbers here.
