Services Set for Mokena's Fallen Soldier Aaron Toppen

The body of PFC Aaron Toppen will arrive home in Chicago Saturday, June 21.

Services Set for Mokena's Fallen Soldier Aaron Toppen
Funeral arrangements have been set for Mokena's Aaron Toppen, one of five American troops killed earlier this month by friendly fire in Afghanistan.

Toppen will arrive at Midway Airport Saturday, June 21 at 12 p.m. An escort will carry him home to Mokena, along a route adorned with yellow ribbons in his honor. The route will travel south on Cicero Avenue to 159th Street, west to Harlem Avenue, then south to 191st Street. It will then head west on 191st Street to Wolf Road, then south.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 23 from 1 to 9 p.m. at Parkview Christian Church, 11100 Orland Parkway, Orland Park. Funeral will be held Tuesday, June June 24 at 10 a.m., at Parkview. Family and friends ask for privacy from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., when the doors will open to the public. 

Toppen graduated from Lincoln-Way East High School in 2013. After his death, Toppen's rank was upgraded to private first class,  Sun-Times Media reports
