Tinley Woman Searching for Lost Tortoise

Have you seen "Boulder"? Help bring him home.

A Tinley Park family is searching for their beloved tortoise, who escaped his habitat Sunday.

The leopard tortoise named “Boulder” was last seen at 175th street near 84th ave., said Andrea Hayes, of her mother’s tortoise. Family and neighbors have been searching non-stop, and Hayes took to social media to help spread the word. His five tortoise siblings miss him, Hayes said.

Boulder is about 8 inches long over the top of the shell. She asks that everyone check all bushes, shrubbery and tall grass.

“That’s most likely where he’s hiding so he won’t be in plain sight. I’m praying someone finds him soon because he cannot handle the cold weather.”

If stuck outside in low temperatures, Boulder could “die a slow, painful death from hemorrhaging,”
