JAN. 2: Batavia police arrested Brandon Stoffel, 22, of Aurora on charges of driving while license suspended, driving under the influence and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and Ronald Stastny, 22, of Batavia on three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of cannabis, according to a report at 11:44 p.m. Jan. 2. During a routine traffic stop at Randall Road and Wilson Street, police determined that occupants of the vehicle were smoking cannabis. The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the intent-to-deliver charges against Stoffel, the driver of the vehicle. Stoffel was transported to the Kane County Jail for bond call, and Stastny posted $150 bond and was released with a court date of Jan. 21.
JAN. 4: Kerri Knauz, 23, 10628 Parkside Apt. 3W, Chicago Ridge, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her silver Nissan Maxima for improper lane use and violating a one-way street at North and York at 1:44 a.m. She was released on bond.
DEC. 31: Geneva police arrested Edward McGonagle, 28, of Geneva on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more after a traffic stop at 1:54 a.m. Dec. 31 in the 300 block of Cheever Ave., reports said. McGonagle has a court date of Feb. 5 at the Cane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles.
DEC. 21: Michelle Fortier, 45, of the 11900 block of Prairie Court, Lemont, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after an accident in the 800 block of Porter Street. She was issued a Feb. 26 court date at Bridgeview Courthouse.
JAN. 1: Frederick Lauer, 19, of the 0-100 block of Lauer Street in Lemont, was arrested around 5 a.m. for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, following an accident in the 60 block of Peiffer Avenue. He was issued a Feb. 26 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
Jan. 1: Police charged Paul Ryza, 37, of the 800 block of North Grove Avenue in Oak Park, with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to give aid or information, improper lane use and unsafe equipment in the 1100 block of Miller Avenue around 2:45 a.m.
JAN. 1: Timothy Ashcraft, 30, of Chicago, was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to give information after striking property and illegal transportation of alcohol.
Jan. 3: Police charged Eva Valerio, 44, of Chicago, with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a revoked license during a traffic stop near the intersection of Harlem and Augusta avenues around 2:10 a.m. She was charged with misdemeanor DUI.
DEC. 27: Erik M. Hellman, 33, of the 2000 block of Childs Court, Wheaton, was arrested at 8:42 p.m. at his home on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, and obstruction of a peace officer. He posted bond and was released.
DEC. 21: Cesar A. Avila, 25, of the 2700 block of South Milard Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. at Butterfield Road and Legends Drive on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of a controlled substance, no insurance, no driver’s license, and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was transported to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.
