Giant Flames and Smoke From Truck Fire Waft Over Eisenhower
Massive delays were reported on the Expressway Tuesday morning when three trucks caught fire on the city's West Side.
CHICAGO, IL - A truck yard fire that produced giant flames on the city’s West Side Tuesday morning caused delays on the Eisenhower Expressway during the morning rush.
An NBC-Chicago helicopter captured footage of the flames and smoke, which progressed from the lot in the 1100 block of S. Kolmar onto the nearby Eisenhower, where massive inbound delays were reported.
Reports indicate two trucks went up in flames just after 6:30 a.m., with the fire being spread to a third truck. All three were fully engulfed when NBC filmed the footage just before 7 a.m.
