Wheaton Parent Finds Nail in Child's Halloween Candy

A resident in the 400 block of Byron Court reported food tampering after finding a one inch nail in a fun-size Snickers bar in their child's Halloween candy Sunday, police said. No one was injured.

The child received the candy while trick-or-treating near Byron Court, on streets including Evergreen, Illinois, Prospect, West York and Williston, according to a press release from the .

Detectives will continue the investigation. Parents are encouraged to inspect all Halloween candy. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Commander of Detectives James Volpe at 630-260-2055.
