Wheaton Warrenville South PE/Health Department Earns Distinguished Blue Ribbon Award
The WWEA recognizes outstanding members in the WWS PE/Health department.

The Blue Ribbon Award is a prestigious honor for Physical Education and Health programs in the State of Illinois. This year the Wheaton Warrenville South PE/Health Department received the Blue Ribbon Award recognizing their excellence in health instruction of high school students.
To be considered for the Blue Ribbon Award the WWS PE/Health Department voluntarily submitted an extensive multi-step process which required both, documented evidence of their curriculum and observation of their teaching methods. The WWS teachers volunteered over 250 hours of time outside of regular school hours to complete the evaluation process. The WWS PE/Health Department’s curriculum was reviewed by a professional panel comprised of college professors, high school teachers, and educators who helped create the Illinois State Learning Standards. Subsequently, the WWS PE/Health teachers, teaching methods, and curriculum were further evaluated over a full day by leaders in health education who spoke with students, teachers, the administration, and parents to verify the excellence of the program.
Congratulations to the WWS PE/Health Department teachers for winning the Blue Ribbon Award! They provide an excellent educational environment for their students.
