Woman Grabbed From Behind on Prairie Path Near Wheaton: Police

The DuPage County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in tracking down the suspect.

WHEATON, IL - The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspicious man who attempted to grab a woman who was jogging on the Illinois Prairie Path early Monday.

The woman was grabbed from behind around 6:20 a.m. on Monday while jogging on the Prairie Path near Armbrust Avenue and Pleasant Hill Road in unincorporated Wheaton.

The suspect is described as a male who is white or possibly Asian. He is about 30 years old and around 5 feet, 10 inches tall with an athletic build and straight black hair. The suspect was wearing a light-colored tank top and black jogging pants, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The sheriff’s office would like to remind residents to be aware of their surroundings and to call 911 if you see any suspicious behavior

Sheriff’s deputies will be conducting extra patrols on the Prairie Path.
