$5K in Jewelry Stolen from Willow Road Home

The following information is from the Winnetka Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.


Amanda L. Eason, 43, of the 9000 block of LaCrosse Ave. in Skokie, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 3 a.m. Aug. 13 Essex and Sunset roads. She has a Sept. 11 court date.

Sign stolen

Someone removed a white private street sign worth $600 from the northwest corner of Hibbard Road and Trapp Lane between 8 p.m. Aug. 11 and 11 a.m. Aug. 12.

Criminal damage to property

Nicholas A. Raftopoulos, 31, of the 1200 block of South Wilke Road in Arlington Heights, was arrested Aug. 13 for criminal damage to property stemming from an Aug. 10 incident in the 1000 block of Sheridan Road. He has a Sept. 19 court date.

Driving with a suspended license

Anne M. Rainis, 49, of the 0-100 block of Deer Run in Lincolnshire, was arrested Aug. 15 at noon at Green Bay Road and Winnetka Avenue for driving with a suspended license. She was also cited for improper lane usage. She has a Sept. 11 court date.

Jewelry stolen

Someone stole several pieces of jewelry worth more than $5,000 from a home in the 1200 block of Willow Road Aug. 15.

Driving on a revoked license

Elvin E. Castillo-Soazo, 32, of the 800 block of Grand Ave. in Waukegan, was arrested at 9 a.m. Aug. 16 in the 0-100 block of Green Bay Road for driving on a revoked license. He was also cited for obstructing identification, no valid driver’s license, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and speeding. He has a Sept. 11 court date.

He was also arrested on a traffic warrant from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Tunnel defaced

Someone used purple and blue spray paint to deface the walls of the Sunset Road pedestrian tunnel between 1 and 10:15 a.m. Aug. 17. Repair is estimated at $300.
