Hubbard Woods Park Land Use Plan - March Open Houses This Week

The Winnetka Park District is developing a conceptual Land Use Plan (Master Plan) for Hubbard Woods Park. Back in October and November, the Park District conducted four public meetings with the residents and local businesses near Hubbard Woods Park to introduce the project and the planning process. Since that time, the Winnetka Park District Board of Commissioners has engaged the services of The Lakota Group, a land planning firm to continue the process. In February, the Park District held two open houses to share ideas that came out of initial public feedback.

Over the next couple of months, the Park District will continue to host several open houses at key touch points throughout the process. The goal is to come up with a Land Use Plan for Hubbard Woods Park that provides opportunity for improvements and enhancements, while being an anchor and lending support to the Hubbard Woods Business District.

The next set of open houses will be held:

  • Wednesday, March 19, 6:30-8:00 pm
  • Saturday, March 22, 9:00-10:30 am

Both open houses will be held at the WPD Community Room, 540 Hibbard Road.

These meetings are a drop-in, open house format during a 90 minute period. Conceptual use diagrams will be utilized to take those in attendance through ideas to-date based on previous feedback from the initial meetings and February open houses and to garner more thoughts and/or consensus. Updated planning progress is also available at http://www.winpark.org/capital-projects.aspx?e=1636.

If you will be unable to attend either meeting but have questions or comments please contact Robert Smith at (847) 501-2070 or rsmith@winpark.org.
