Northfield Police Find Dead Elderly Woman At Home

The following reports were provided by the Northfield Police Department. Arrests and charges are accusations and do not indicate guilt.

Sudden Death

On March 27, someone reported being unable to reach his elderly mother for a few days, and being unable to enter her home because of an interior lock, according to police. With fire department assistance, police made entry to the elderly woman's home on the 1000 block of N. Happ Road, where the woman would found deceased, police say.

She was transported to Evanston hospital where she was pronounced dead, and nothing seemed unusual about her passing, according to police.

Theft Under $500

On March 30, a woman from Wilmette reported an iPhone was stolen while she was shopping on the 1800 bock of Willow Road, according to police. The woman told officers the phone was in her purse as she entered a store, but missing when she left, police say.

Suspicious Incident

On March 26, officers arrested Zhazha Pigott, 27, of Chicago, on a previous arrest warrant, according to police. Pigott was apprehended at the Walgreens on the 1800 block of Willow Road when pharmacy employees called to report a possible prescription fraud attempt, police say.

Walgreens staff chose not to request further investigation of Pigott because the prescription was never filled, and she was only apprehended for a previous failure to appear charge, according to police.
