Pediatric Concierge Medicine Practice Opens in Winnetka, One of the First Personalized Pediatric Office Practices in Area

A pediatrician for more than 15 years, Jessica Rappaport, MD has opened the doors to her concierge medical practice, one of the first such offices in the North Shore area. Mirroring the hallmarks of concierge medicine, Rappaport Pediatrics offers longer, unhurried office visits, same or next day appointments and little or no waiting time at the office, minimizing exposure to other sick children. Parents are able to reach Dr. Rappaport directly during the day and are given her personal cell phone number for urgent concerns after office hours.

“When your child is sick, nothing else matters,” says Dr. Rappaport. “My new practice allows me to be available to my patients and their families whenever, and for however long, is needed.”

At traditional pediatric practices, the number of patients seen each day can be daunting, she explains, with rushed visits and long waits often unavoidable. “A larger window of time to get to know the child well and offer parents the support they seek is at the core of my practice, and the reason I made the change,” she says.

Proactive wellness at every developmental stage is emphasized at Rappaport Pediatrics, beginning with an extended assessment of a child’s overall health that lays the foundation for an individualized plan. “I consider parents my most valued partners in managing and maintaining their child’s best health, and every question and concern they have, from physical to social and emotional, will be thoroughly explored,” assures Dr. Rappaport. “The increased awareness of pediatric conditions and illnesses among well-informed parents, makes it even more essential to have the time to discuss issues and treatment options in depth.”

Having immediate access to knowledgeable, compassionate medical guidance throughout the parenthood journey is immeasurable, according to Rachel Wanroy, a Highland Park working mother who recently enrolled her two children at Rappaport Pediatrics. “I’m blessed that my kids have been pretty healthy, but when they’ve had a high fever or something has alarmed me in the middle of the night, Dr. Rappaport is always there for us,” she says. “We’ve never experienced any doctor like her.
