Updated Friday:

A village dump truck that was plowing snow from a municipal parking lot damaged power lines and caused the power outage in downtown Northfield Thursday, according to a note on the village website

No other vehicles were involved and there were no injuries, the note says. "The Village is in the process of conducting a full investigation into the matter and will work to ensure any outstanding issues are quickly addressed."

The village sent out the following update at 3 p.m. Thursday

Com Ed crews remain on the scene and are working to restore power within the community following an accident this morning.
