The Winnetka police regularly provide reports of arrests and incidents around the village.

Winnetka Blotter: Stolen Social Security Number & License Plates, Graffiti and More
The below information was provided by the Winnetka Police Department. Readers are reminded that when an individual is named, they are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

Identity Theft

A victim discovered that between March 10 and March 12, an unknown offender had used his social security number. There is no reported loss at this time.

Burglary-Motor Vehicle

A victim reported that between 1:55 p.m. and 2:40 p.m. on March 18, the rear passenger window of their vehicle in the 100 block of Thorn Tree Ln. was broken out and a black canvas bag containing tools was taken. The loss is valued at $800. 

Disorderly Conduct

A victim reported that on March 19, an unknown offender broke a light bulb against the victim's door in the 500 block of Chestnut St. and activated the building's fire alarm. There was no reported damage. 

Theft

A victim reported that on March 20 around 4:30 p.m. an unknown offender removed his black I-phone 5 with a case and a black Mophie Juice pack cell phone charger. The items were left unattended by a training area in the 300 block of Winnetka Ave. The amount of the loss is $319.

A victim discovered the front and back license plates of their vehicle were removed in the 800 block of Locust St. sometime between March 19 and March 20. The amount of the loss is $101. 

Traffic Arrest/Possession of a Controlled Substance

Raymond J. Corujo, 23, of the 6200 block of Knox Ave., Chicago was arrested for possession of a controlled substance on March 21 at 12:23 a.m. in the 1200 block of Tower Rd. The arrest was made subsequent to a traffic stop. 

Criminal Damage

A police officer discovered black spray paint graffiti on a picnic shelter in the 1100 block of Willow Rd. on March 23 at 8:53 p.m. The park district was notified to handle removal. The repair cost is not known.
