The Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce have combined forces are forming a new entity to be called Chamber630.
The merger takes effect July 1.
The board of directors of both chambers have worked together over the last several months developing a plan of operation that will benefit all stakeholders.
“From the very first discussion on uniting the business communities of both these great Chambers, the focus and expected outcome has been, this is good for business,” said Laura Crawford, president and CEO of the Downers Grove Chamber.
Dan Coli, chairman of the Woodridge Area Chamber said the merger gives both organizations wider networking appeal.
“I am excited as a member for all of the new opportunities it represents for my business as well as every members business,” Coli said in a written statement.
Downers Grove Chamber Chairman Rick Mytnik said the merger comes at a crucial time when many other other membership organizations are struggling to retain membership.
“Chamber630 represents a bigger, better chamber and provides enhanced value for the membership,” Mytnik said. This is a win-win for all business and it is time to celebrate the unification.”
