Yorkville's mayor is pondering the fate of his mustache after committing to shave his head March 17 to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which funds research for childhood cancer.

Yorkville Mayor Gary Golinski and his mustache go way back.

In fact, he's only shaved it off once in his adult life.

But now, he "must-ache" you a question in light of a special charity event: Should the 'stache stay or go when he shaves his head with a group of other people raising money to support childhood cancer research?

Golinski and Yorkville residents Chris Cherwin, Bill Foxwo and Jason Halstead have committed to shaving their heads March 17 at to raise money for St. Baldrick's Foundation. The event will kick off at 5 p.m., but participants presently are raising money ahead of time online at this site. You can donate toward Golinski's $1,000 goal at this site.

In addition, Rosati's manager T.J. Banning has promised to shave his head and mustache if his staff (and the community) raise $1,000 for the foundation. He registered as a "shavee" Monday morning, so the clock is ticking to reach that goal.
