Coleman Family Fundraiser: Aug. 7 At Metro Diner Locations

Nine members of the Coleman Family, from Indianapolis, were killed during the July 19 duck boat accident in Branson, Missouri.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The community is invited to join fundraising efforts across the Indianapolis area on Tuesday, Aug. 7, to help support the family that lost 9 loved ones in the tragic July 19 duck boat accident in Branson, Missouri. From open to close on Tuesday, Metro Diner will be hosting a charity event at all five of their Indianapolis-area restaurants where diners will be able to donate 10 percent of their total check directly to the Coleman family, according to a release sent to Patch.

Patch reported Tia Coleman and her 13-year-old nephew were the only two people out of their 11 family who boarded the boat on July 19 to make it out alive.

Twenty-nine passengers and two crew members were aboard the boat. Fourteen people survived.
