Departing Ankeny Athletics Director to Lead Des Moines High School

Kevin Biggs, who submitted his resignation to the Ankeny school board in April, will start his new role on July 1.

Kevin Biggs, departing athletics and activities director for Ankeny school district, is set to be the new principal at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines.

Biggs will replace Kathie Danielson, according to the Des Moines Register. He starts on July 1.

The Des Moines school board narrowly approved Biggs' appointment at its Tuesday meeting, the Register also reported. Of the seven board members, three voted against his hiring, citing his proposed salary and concerns about a lack of racial diversity among top school leaders.
