Cozy Cafe Opening New Restaurant in West Des Moines in Former Diner

The restaurant's grand opening is Saturday.

The Cozy Cafe will occupy the former West End Diner location at 3535 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, the fifth metro location for the local restaurant chain that opened in 2010.

The grand opening is Saturday, with a soft opening on Friday, the Des Moines Register reported. Diners will notice new booths, paint, tile and other updates.

Cozy Cafe’s owners are Mark and Marsha Linebach, who formerly owned The Rock restaurant in Des Moines known for Helen and Pat’s Cavatelli, among other things, according to the restaurant’s web site.

Customers can expect typical diner fare on the breakfast menu – eggs, meat and hashed browns, omelettes, pancakes, French toast and biscuits and gravy – but also healthy choices such as yogurt and granola and fresh fruit choices.

Signature pastas include the house special Helen and Pat’s Cavatelli and a signature dish featuring penne pasta with Graziano sausage and marinara sauce. Homemade soups and salads are available and daily specials are offered.

The Lienbachs also  operate restaurants at  at 15950 Hickman Road, Clive; 5405 Douglas Ave., Des Moines; 3855 121st St., Urbandale; and 6401 S.E. 14th St., Des Moines.
