MD Weather: Downpours Possible As Thunderstorms Move In
Thunderstorms could lead to heavy rain in 10 Maryland counties on Monday. Here's what the forecast says about hazardous weather possible.
MARYLAND — Thunderstorms could lead to heavy downpours in parts of Maryland on Monday, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Forecast.
The heaviest rain and the best chance of thunderstorms is Monday afternoon before 2 p.m. The NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook Monday for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, tidal Potomac River and the I-95 corridor through central Maryland.
Temperatures Monday and Tuesday will be around 10 degrees lower compared to the high temperatures over the weekend, AccuWeather said. In the Baltimore-DC region, temperatures will likely reach 85 degrees Monday and 80 Tuesday.

"The cold front passing through the Northeast may bring showers and storms to the coast on Monday, but usher in a cooler air mass behind it. As a result, the ongoing stretch of hot weather will immediately come to an end," AccuWeather meteorologist Andrew Kienzle said Monday.
Although Monday's thunderstorms are not expected to be severe, forecasters say the storms may produce brief downpours.

Areas under the hazardous weather outlook include Cecil, Baltimore, Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Marys, Calvert, Montgomery, Howard and Harford counties.
"The showers and perhaps some thunderstorms could turn a bit more intense as they progress east of I-95 this afternoon and especially on the Eastern Shore late this afternoon into the early evening," the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang said Monday.
Monday's skies should clear by the evening, with temperatures in the low-60s, according to the NWS.
Looking ahead, the next storm system may reach the D.C. area on Saturday. As of now, though, Sunday looks to be the most unsettled day of the upcoming weekend, with scattered storms and temperatures, WJLA reported.
