Annapolis Police say a driver turned in front of a patrol car with its lights and sirens on; the crash sent one person to the hospital.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Authorities are reminding drivers to yield the right of way to emergency vehicles after a driver allegedly turned in front of an Annapolis Police car and the two collided.
If possible, drivers should move parallel to and next to the edge or curb of the road when an emergency vehicle with lights and siren activated is approaching, police say. Stay out of intersections and keep your vehicle stopped until the vehicle has passed.
On Wednesday night, an Annapolis police officer was responding to an emergency call with his lights and siren activated when he was involved in an accident. The department says the patrol vehicle was on Bay Ridge Avenue when a car he was approaching pulled to the right and stopped. The next vehicle turned to the left in front of the police vehicle and the vehicles collided.
