Driver Critically Injured in Head-On Crash

A van owned by an Annapolis heating and plumbing company collided with a pickup truck in Millersville, police say.

MILLERSVILLE, MD — An Arnold man was critically injured Monday afternoon when his pickup truck was reportedly hit head-on by a van owned by an Annapolis plumbing business.

Anne Arundel County Police say a work van driven by William J. Darcy Jr., 54, of 661 Paddle Wheel Court in Millersville was northbound on Veterans Highway at the time of the crash. The van is owned by R.E. Robertson Plumbing and Heating of Annapolis.

The van crossed into the lane for southbound traffic and collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by James A. Harding Sr., 64, of 933 Burnett Ave. in Arnold. Firefighters had to cut Harding out of the wreckage.

Harding was flown by helicopter to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with critical injuries.

Police say Darcy was taken by ambulance to Baltimore-Washington Medical Center with minor injuries.

Any charges are pending a review by the Anne Arundel County state’s attorney.
