Walmart, Giant, Safeway, Walgreens Christmas Day 2016 Store Hours

Christmas is nearly here, which often means a flurry of baking for gifts, parties and meals for company. So a last-minute run to the grocery store for pie, more wine or anti-acids after days of food binges is likely since something always gets left off the shopping list.

The folks at Mid-Atlantic locations of Giant, Food Lion, Weis, Harris Teeter and Wegmans stores, among others, are open up for business, some with limited hours on Christmas Eve, which is Saturday, Dec. 24; few grocery stores will be open on Christmas Day.

If you need some milk, a loaf of bread or a few other staples on Christmas Day, your neighborhood Walgreens or CVS is likely your best option.

Here’s a list of holiday hours for several stores, taken from their websites and emails to Patch.

Here's a look at grocery store hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Maryland:

• Giant: Most stores open until 7 p.m.; pharmacies until 6 p.m. on Dec. 24; all pharmacies are closed but many Maryland stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Day.
• Safeway: Most stores open until 8 p.m. on Dec. 24; some open on Dec. 25, call your Safeway for specific hours
• Whole Foods: Most stores will close at 7 p.m., some are open until 8 p.m. on Dec. 24; a few stores are open on Christmas so find your store and call ahead.
• Wegmans: All stores will close at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, and reopen at 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 26.
• Food Lion: All stores will be open until 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day.
• Trader Joes: All stores close at 6 p.m on Christmas Eve, all closed on Christmas Day.
• MOMs My Organic Market: Stores open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, all closed on Christmas Day.
• Aldi: Stores open until 4 p.m. on Dec. 24; closed on Dec. 25.
• Harris Teeter: Open until 7 p.m. on Dec. 24; closed on Dec. 25.
• Walmart: Open until 6 p.m. on Dec. 24; closed on Christmas Day.
• Costco: Open until 5 p.m. Dec. 24; closed on Christmas Day.
• Weis Markets: All stores will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24, all pharmacies will be open until 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve; all stores are closed on Dec. 25.
• Walgreens: Most Walgreens stores are open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, although with reduced hours. Most locations are open until midnight on Dec. 24, then open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas.
• CVS Pharmacy: Most CVS locations will close early at 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve and reopen at 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Christmas Day.
