Feature Film 'Little Miss Perfect' SOLD OUT at Annapolis Film Festival

Audiences line up around the block this weekend to watch "Little Miss Perfect" at the Annapolis Film Festival.

There’s more than meets the eye in upcoming psychological drama Little Miss Perfect, a story about social exclusion, family disconnection, and body image. Annapolitans lined up around the block this weekend to watch the film, followed by a Q&A with the film's director and lead actress, moderated by local psychiatrist Kathy Miller.

Written and directed by Annapolis Film Festival alum Marlee Roberts, the film chronicles the life of BELLE (14) an overambitious straight-A freshman. Her newest accomplishment? Class President. Belle seems to have it all together but as family troubles and daily social academic pressures begin to grow, she seeks a way to control an otherwise chaotic world. Triggered by a blog promoting anorexia and other eating disorders, Belle drops down to an unhealthy weight, a number that wouldn't even make for a good grade.

The film premiered at the Irvine International Film Festival where is was nominated for “Best Feature Film” and the film’s lead took home the Emerging Actress Award. Starring in the film’s intense lead role is actress Karlee Roberts, Marlee’s younger sister who was just thirteen during production. The film co-stars Disney’s Isabella Palmieri (Good Luck Charlie, Jessie) and Lilla Crawford (Into the Woods) as her best friends. Also featured in the film is teen pop-icon Jeremy Fernandez, Peter Rini (Orange is the New Black, Person of Interest), as well as STARZ Magic City’s Tom Degnan.
