Thunderstorms Expected In Maryland On July 4 Weekend, Skies May Clear By Holiday

Maryland may see thunderstorms and real-feel temperatures around 100 degrees on July 4 weekend. The storms should pass by the holiday.

MARYLAND — Severe weather may threaten Maryland's fireworks and cookouts this Independence Day weekend.

The holiday weekend will start with intense heat on Friday. The high will sit around 90 degrees, but AccuWeather said the real-feel temperature will hover around 100.

Friday could also bring thunderstorms that may pester the area on-and-off through Sunday. The storms should pass by the 4th of July, however. Temperatures may be more comfortable on Monday.

AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski expects the temperature to be slightly cooler at the beaches. Sosnowski said Ocean City will likely be free of rain 90% of the time from Friday through Monday. The water temperature should be in the 70s throughout the Delmarva Penninsula this weekend.
