Trooper Hit at I-95 Accident Scene, Flown to Hospital

A Maryland State Police officer was hit by a vehicle at a crash site near Savage. All southbound lanes are closed in the area.

A helicopter was requested at the scene of an accident at Interstate 95 and Route 175, with reports that a state trooper was struck.

The Twitter account for East Coast 911 Incident Alerts says a Maryland State Police trooper was reported down. The call came just before 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Savage area.

State Police said on Twitter just after 4 p.m. that all lanes are now closed on southbound I-95 near the crash at Route 175 north of Route 32.

The trooper injured in the crash has been taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma.
