Baltimore Lidl Shuttered Due To Rat Infestation: Officials
The North Baltimore store must correct the problem and pass reinspection before it can reopen, city health officials said.
BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore grocery store closed Friday after an inspection by city health officials discovered a rat infestation.
According to the Baltimore City Health Department, officials closed a Lidl store located at 1504 Havenwood Rd. in North Baltimore. The business must correct the problem and pass reinspection before it can reopen, health officials said.
The store opened last summer in the Northwood Commons shopping center, WMAR reported.

A Lidl spokesperson did not immediately return Patch's request for comment.
In a statement provided to WMAR, Lidl officials said they are "working to address" the issue.

"Our store was closed yesterday by local health officials and we are working to address their points and to get the store reopened as soon as possible for our customers," the statement read. "The health and safety of our customers and team members is our top priority."
