The U.S. Marshals Service is searching for Dwight Carter following the May attack at a Giant Food store in North Baltimore.

BALTIMORE, MD — Federal authorities are searching for a man they say walked into a North Baltimore grocery store and attacked a security guard with a machete, according to a WBFF report citing the U.S. Marshals Service.

Dwight Carter, 42, was attempting to steal food items from a Giant Food store in North Baltimore when a security guard noticed him, WBFF reported. The guard confronted Carter, who pulled out a machete and attacked the guard, according to WBFF.

Authorities were able to identify Carter using a backpack he left behind at the store. Authorities told WBFF they believe Carter is likely still in the greater Baltimore area.
