Barn Fire In Forest Hill Knocked: Harford Volunteer Fire & EMS

Officials said there was smoke showing from a barn on Johnson Mill Road when firefighters arrived.

FOREST HILL, MD — Firefighters say they have snuffed out a barn fire in Forest Hill Thursday afternoon. The blaze occurred at 12:48 p.m. in the 2700 block of Johnson Mill Road, officials said.

No animals were injured, and neither were any people, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

Volunteer firefighters found light smoke showing from roof of the 30-by-60-foot barn when they arrived at 12:55 p.m., Gardiner said. Within 15 minutes, they had knocked the blaze.

Johnson Mill Road was closed between German Manor and Chestnut Hill roads so that firefighting apparatus could clear, according to Gardiner. He advised that by 2:15 p.m., the road should be reopened.
