Driver Enters Closed Road, Requires Swift Water Rescue

UPDATE (Thursday)—A 49-year-old woman who entered a closed road was rescued by a Maryland State Police trooper Wednesday night on Maryland Route 24, according to a news release.

With volunteer firefighters on the way to the 3900 block of Rocks Road, Cpl. Ray Domico waded through waist-high water to rescue a Pylesville woman.

Domico escorted the woman back to try ground, neither of them injured.

The woman was driving a Suburban, with no passengers, when the vehicle got stuck in the water running across the road. It stalled after the woman put it in park, according to the dispatcher. It remained stuck Tuesday morning, according to a release.
