Driver Flown To Shock Trauma After Van Crash Off MD 24: Officials

After a van hit a tree in the Edgewood area, authorities said one person was trapped and seriously injured.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — One person was seriously injured in a crash off MD 24 early Monday morning, officials said. A medevac took the driver to shock trauma, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

At 6:20 a.m. on Presidents Day, officials reported a van crashed in the area of MD 24 near the south end of Edgewood Road. The vehicle hit a tree, according to a photo shared by the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

Crews from Joppa-Magnolia and Abingdon used the jaws of life to rescue the driver, who was trapped, authorities said.

The driver was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment, according to officials.
