Harford Garage Blaze Caused $40K In Damage: Fire Marshal

WHITE HALL, MD — A garage fire that caused $40,000 in damage in Harford County Monday is under investigation.

A passerby alerted authorities at 11:12 a.m. that the two-story detached garage in the 4100 block of Norrisville Road was ablaze, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Approximately 25 firefighters responded and brought the situation under control within 15 minutes. Among them were crews from Jarrettsville and Bel Air.

The owner, who was not home at the time, arrived soon after firefighters, according to the fire marshal.

There was $25,000 in structural damage, and $15,000 worth of items inside were lost, officials said, noting that the structure housed a motorcycle, riding lawn mower and canoe.

While investigators determined the blaze began inside the garage, officials said the cause remained under investigation.
