Transformer Fire on Bond Street, Power Out in Some Areas

The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company shared this image from the scene of Wednesday morning transformer blaze.

BEL AIR, MD — A transformer caught fire in downtown Bel Air Wednesday morning, according to Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

The incident happened in the 100 block of South Bond Street at approximately 8:15 a.m., he said.

According to BGE, there were fewer than five outages reported in the area, and estimated restoration time was 1:45 p.m., which is subject to change (check the outage map for the latest info).
