Crimes in Bethesda and Chevy Chase included in the county police department's most recent crime summary.

Bethesda, Chevy Chase Crime: Theft at Whole Foods, Robbery on Bradley Blvd.

The following information was supplied by the  Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimesoccurring in the county between Sept. 16 and 24. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Robberies:

  • A robbery occurred in the 4700 block of Bradley Boulevard on Sunday, Sept. 22, at about 1:10 a.m. The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim.

Thefts:

  • A theft occurred at the Whole Foods Market at 4420 Willard Ave., Chevy Chase, on Thursday, Sept. 19, at about 12:30 p.m. The suspect took the victim’s wallet.  

Residential burglaries:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 800 block of Burdette Road in Bethesda between Thursday, Sept. 19, and Monday, Sept. 23. There was a forced entry, and property was taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 6000 block of Welborn Drive in Bethesda between 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23. There was a forced entry, and property was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 4900 block of Cumberland Avenue in Chevy Chase between 9:12 and 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23. There was no forced entry, and property was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9100 block of Burning Tree Road in Bethesda on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 12:53 a.m. There was a forced entry, and property was taken. 
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9900 block of Fernwood Road in Bethesda on Sunday, Sept. 22, at about 4:15 p.m. There was an attempted forced entry, and nothing was taken. 
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 8900 block of Charred Oak Drive in Bethesda on Thursday, Sept. 19, between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. There was an attempted forced entry, and nothing was taken. 

Thefts from vehicles:

  • Seven thefts from vehicles occurred during nighttime hours between Sunday, Sept. 22, and Monday, Sept. 23, in Chevy Chase. Incidents on Stanford Street involved no signs of forced entry; clothing, a cell phone and cash were taken. Incidents on Spencer Road and Rosemary Hills Drive involved forced entry; clothing and documents were taken.
