Vehicle Fire on I-695 Near Catonsville Reported

A vehicle fire caused backups on Interstate 695 Friday afternoon that reportedly stretched to I-95.

At 12:57 p.m., state transportation officials reported there was a vehicle fire on the inner loop of I-695 before the exit for US 40/Baltimore National Pike.

Just before 1:30 p.m., delays on I-695 stretched from the exit for US 40 to the I-95 junction, according to WNEW.

After 1:30 p.m., traffic was still jammed in the area of the US 40 exit but was starting to move, traffic cameras showed.
