Burglars Witnessed at Cedar Lane Park: Columbia Crime Roundup

The following arrest information was supplied by the Howard County police department. It does not indicate a conviction. Crimes were reported between Aug. 31-Sept. 5.

Commercial Burglary

A group of 10 to 12 juvenile males were reportedly observed by a witness pulling on the doors of a shed in Cedar Lane Park. The witness reported the juveniles opened the doors and took several cases of water and soda, but when they realized they were being observed, they dropped most of the items and fled. The incident occurred at 4:55 p.m. on Aug. 31.

Residential Breaking and Entering 

Cash was stolen from a residence near the 5100 block of Watchwood Path after an unknown suspect or suspects reportedly gained entrance by breaking the glass on a sunroom with a golf ball, moving patio furniture to the front of the window and entering sometime around 10 p.m. on Aug. 31.

Clarksville – A safe containing identity information, business records and cash was stolen from a residence near the 6900 block of Crossfield Court after an unknown suspect or suspects used a rock to break the residence’s rear French doors between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 2.

Vehicle Thefts

A moped was reported stolen near the 5800 block of Robert Oliver Place between 9 p.m. on Sept. 3 and 4:25 p.m. on Sept. 4. 

A 2002 Hyundai Elantra, greenish blue, was reported stolen near the 10800 block of Hilltop Lane between 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 and 7:28 a.m. on Aug. 31.
