Fire On Route 108 Was Vacant House: Officials

Firefighters were called to a house fire in Clarksville Saturday night, Howard County officials said.

CLARKSVILLE, MD — Fire broke out at an abandoned house Saturday night in Clarksville, officials said. Crews were at the scene for more than an hour in the 11900 block of Clarksville Pike, authorities reported.

Crews had knocked the fire from the first floor of the vacant home by approximately 10:15 p.m.

Firefighters had contained the blaze to a portion of the second story as of 10:30 p.m., at which time they were battling the fire from the outside.

Fire officials remained at the scene before 11:30 p.m. checking for hot spots.

Nobody was injured, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

Investigators were working to determine the origin and cause of the blaze.
